Our goal for this week was to plant 11 churches in areas where there was no Christian presence. After 5 days of ministry, we held medical clinics at 6 sites and evangelized 1035 people. To God be the glory.

Vision a big hit!

Pictured above is Tom Tucker from Greenville, SC. He and his daughter ran the vision clinic. Here he is using a portable refractor which reads peoples eyes and send important information to a laptop. Once calculated, it prints out the location of distance glasses that should be appropriate for the patient. With distance and reading glasses, the vision team was able to meet the needs of hundreds of precious folks in Ibarra.
On Monday a reporter from a local newspaper came and took pictures and interviewed some of our team members. On Tuesday pictures of our vision team were posted on the front page and fourth page of the local news along with a great story. We thank God for the opportunity to serve him in Ibarra this week.

Meet Clarita

Clarita lives high in the Andes Mountains. On Tuesday we had a medical clinic in the town beneath where she lives. She walked for hours to reach us. She said that she would have crawled if necessary. Clarita is 93 years old but today she was born again. Our medical team did all that they could to meet her physical needs. She had severe cataracts and of course we could do nothing. Please pray right now for Clarita. Her husband is sick with cancer and could not walk to see us. Her daughter also has cancer. She was so concerned for them and for her inability to see. One day, because she found "new life in Christ", Clarita will not suffer any longer.

The Miracle

We have completed our 5th medical clinic here in Ecuador. I have been overwhelmed by God's presence here and how ripe the harvest is! People are so receptive to the Gospel after their physical needs are met. Sometimes we only give vitamins or reading glasses and they are so grateful. I have even seen a man come out of the clinic and show everyone his new glasses. He was so grateful for the little we gave him. For the first time in my life, I have also been able to witness a true miracle. We were quickly running out of vitamins and were not sure how we would be able to serve more people. We prayed that God would intervene and He did in absolute abundance! We ended up with more than we could ever need, it was absolutely amazing. The box that the vitamins were carried in was heavier when we left than when we came! How awesome is that?! It was just like the loaves and the fishes. I am still overwhelmed every time I think about this. Please continue to pray for our team as we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus to these villages.

God is blessing

Today is Tuesday. We have completed four medical clinics and have 11 evangelism teams out working. Thru today over 500 people have come to know Jesus as their Savior.
Please continue to pray as we compete our work in Ibarra.

Everything going well

The team arrived in Quito in "pretty good" shape. Only pretty good because we lost one suitcase and ONE person. Don't worry. One of our team members was stopped in Panama City, Panama being told her ticket was no good. Everything is OK now, she was able to join the team one day late. I thankful for team members who are flexible and fluid right out of the shoot.

Children's Ministry Day One

Today was the first day of our medical and evangelism ministries. We spent the day working with the children waiting in line at the medical clinic. Most of our day was spent playing games, singing songs, and sharing Bible stories with the children. Their favorite part was creating salvation bracelets and sharing them with their friends. They also enjoyed a puppet show presenting the Gospel. Please continue to pray that the seeds that were planted today in the lives of these children will continue to grow.
